Do you know anyone who gives great advice, but they don't follow their own advice? Why is it so much easier to tell someone what to do than it is to do it? The phrase, "easier said than done" comes to mind. Talking the talk is so much easier than walking the walk. However, as a Christian, you should be doing both! You might be thinking, "Yea, I know that, but HOW?"

The first step to walking out your faith for others to see is by knowing Jesus as well as what He desires for you. To know Jesus, you must read the Bible. It is God's love story to us about how He created us, and His plan to redeem us through His son Jesus. When you understand how much Jesus loves you, you begin to comprehend why you should follow His ways. His ways are best, even when it doesn't seem like it! Scripture reveals over and over how God worked in the lives of so many men and women who were sinners in need of a Savior. Christ is not waiting on us to clean up our lives or get things right, He already did the work to redeem us. Since the work is already done, all we have to do is accept His gift of sacrifice. Romans 5:8 states, "But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us."

After you accept Christ and believe that you have been forgiven of your sins, you should get to know who God is. Read the Bible to learn about His character and who He is. If you think you can't understand the Bible, just read it anyway! The Holy Spirit will guide you to understanding the Bible. Through this understanding, you will start to realize you need to make changes in your life. These changes won't help God love you more, He already loves you completely. These changes will help you love yourself and others more. Through this love, you will have a desire to help others accept and know Jesus. Why? Because you will have a testimony (a life change) that you want to share!
Finally, you will not just be talking the talk, but you will be equipped to walk the walk. Through your words and your actions, others will see Christ. Let your life be a living example of how God can change anyone! No matter what you have done, God will forgive you and lead you on the path to everlasting life. Then, you will be able to lead others.

The process to change is very simple, but that does not mean it will be easy! Change is hard, BUT it is possible. The ways of God are better for you, so the work to change will be worth the reward. Don't just talk the talk and tell others what they should be doing. Do it yourself! Do what glorifies God and others will notice. Often your actions speak so much louder than your words!
