In a world that constantly shifts, where priorities change, and culture evolves, there is one truth that remains unshaken—Jesus. From the beginning of time to the end of days, from the simplest moments to the most profound experiences, Jesus is the central figure in all things. It’s easy to overlook this profound truth in our busy lives, but the more we reflect on it, the more we realize how deeply and intricately woven Jesus is into the fabric of existence.
Jesus: The Alpha and the Omega
The Bible begins with creation in the Book of Genesis. In those first verses, God speaks the world into being. But it’s in the New Testament that we discover a deeper truth about those opening words. The Apostle John tells us that “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God” (John 1:1). The Word is Jesus. Before anything was made, Jesus was there, laying the foundations of the universe.
This eternal truth is not just theological—it is personal. Jesus didn’t just come to live in the world; He has been at the heart of it from the start. Jesus is not only the beginning; He is also the end. Revelation 22:13 proclaims, "I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End." From the first breath of creation to the final victory over sin and death, Jesus is at the center of everything. This foundational truth is what give us hope in this chaotic and crazy world!
Jesus in Creation
As we look at the world around us, we see the handiwork of Jesus. Colossians 1:16-17 reminds us, “For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together.”
Every sunset, every star, every tree, every wave crashing on the shore is part of Jesus' creation. The intricate beauty of nature points us to the One who made it all. But it’s not just nature. Jesus is present in the people around us, in our relationships, and in every moment of joy and sorrow. He is the source of life itself, and every breath we take is a gift from Him.
Jesus in the Story of Redemption
The story of redemption is, in essence, the story of Jesus. From the moment humanity fell in the Garden of Eden, God’s plan to restore us began to unfold. In every sacrifice, every prophecy, and every part of the Old Testament, Jesus was the fulfillment of God's promises. He was the lamb slain before the foundation of the world, the promised Messiah who would come to reconcile God and man.
When Jesus entered history as a human being, He did not come as a distant figure. He became one of us, fully God and fully man, to live a life of perfect obedience and to die on the cross for our sins. His death was not just a historical event—it was the pivotal moment in human history. Through His sacrifice, He offers redemption, forgiveness, and eternal life to all who believe. The greatest act of love we could ever imagine was gifted to us on a cross. Jesus' love is incomprehensible!
Jesus in Our Lives
For many, the understanding that everything is about Jesus can seem distant or abstract. But the truth is, Jesus is central to every aspect of our lives. He is the foundation of our identity, the source of our purpose, and the answer to our deepest questions.
In our relationships, Jesus teaches us to love others as He has loved us, offering grace, patience, and forgiveness (1 John 4:19).
In our work, He calls us to do everything as if we are working for Him, giving our best in all that we do (Colossians 3:23).
In our trials, Jesus is our comfort and strength. He faced suffering and temptation, and because of that, He is able to empathize with our pain and offer peace in the midst of it.
When we make Jesus the center of our lives, we see everything differently. Our relationships, our work, our struggles, and our victories all take on new meaning when they are filtered through the lens of Christ. He transforms the ordinary into the extraordinary and gives eternal significance to everything we do.
Jesus in the Future
The story of Jesus doesn’t end with His death and resurrection. It continues as He promises to return. The Bible speaks of a future where Christ will return in glory, restore all things, and bring justice and peace to the world. The hope of the resurrection is not just a past event—it is a future promise. Jesus will make all things new, and in Him, we have a future that is secure.
Conclusion: Everything Is About Jesus
When we say that everything is about Jesus, we mean it in the fullest sense. He is the Creator, the Redeemer, and the Sustainer of all things. He is the reason for our existence and the hope of our future. Jesus is not just a figure in history—He is the heart of everything. From creation to redemption, from our daily lives to the grand narrative of eternity, all things are ultimately about Him.
As we reflect on this truth, we are invited to align our lives with the reality that Jesus is at the center. When we do, we discover a deeper purpose, a greater peace, and an unshakable hope that everything in this life points to Him—and that is a truth worth living for.
